Your Senior Portrait Session

Your Senior Year of High School is such a fun time! Taking your senior portraits should be too. I believe each senior session should be an experience that captures your unique self.

Below, I have a few tips to help you prepare for your senior session.

And fill out the questionnaire at the end to help me get to know you and your expectations for the session! Once I receive your questionnaire I will contact you to get your session on the books!

Tip # 1 - VARIETY of Outfits

Most Seniors bring along 2 or 3 outfits to use for their session.

For boys, I suggest at least one dressier outfit, like a button up shirt and non-denim pants. Then a more casual look for the second outfit.

For girls, same. One dressy outfit, one casual. If the dressy option is not a dress, I suggest bringing along at least one dress. Dresses make for some creative poses and movement.

Tip# 2 - Accessories

Accessories can really add interest to a photograph as well as become another element to expressing who you are. Hats, scarves, belts, jackets and jewelry are all great additions to your styling.

tip #3 - props

I don't usually incorporate a lot of props into my sessions but for Senior Portraits I believe it's a must! Think of something to bring along that can help us capture what high school meant to you. For some, it's a school activity like band, sports, etc. Bring along your instrument, uniform, ball, megaphone, or anything else. Maybe the identity of your teen years lies in something that is not related to school. If it can be used in our session bring it along!

Tip #4 - Relax and have fun!

Finishing high school is a big deal! Enjoy this time of transition and all the fun experiences because it's a special time that only happens once! Take in the moment.
